Tasks (Counselor View)

The Tasks section lets you create and assign to-do items to your students and track their progress.

Task list

The tasks page shows all tasks you have created, grouped by student. Each row shows:
  • Task title and student name
  • Due date
  • Priority badge
  • Status — Pending / In Progress / Completed / Overdue

Creating a task

  1. Click + New Task.
  2. Select the student to assign it to.
  3. Fill in:
    • Title — e.g., “Upload IELTS certificate”
    • Description — detailed instructions for the student
    • Due date — set a realistic deadline
    • Priority — High (red), Medium (yellow), Low (grey)
    • Task type — helps the student understand what action is needed
  4. Optionally attach a file (e.g., a form the student needs to fill in).
  5. Click Save.
The student receives a notification immediately.

Bulk task creation

To assign the same task to multiple students at once:
  1. Click + New Task → Bulk assign.
  2. Select the students from the list.
  3. Fill in the task details — they apply to all selected students.
  4. Click Assign to all.

Following up on overdue tasks

The tasks list highlights overdue tasks in red. Click into a task to:
  • Edit the due date if needed
  • Add a note explaining the delay
  • Send the student a reminder message

Completing tasks on a student’s behalf

If a student has completed a task outside the portal (e.g., emailed you a document), you can mark it done:
  1. Open the task.
  2. Click Mark as Completed.
  3. Add a note if needed (e.g., “Student submitted via email on 12 Jan”).
