Support & Messaging

The Support section is your direct line to your assigned counselor. All messages are private between you and your IEC team.

Sending a message

  1. Click Support in the left sidebar.
  2. Type your message in the text box at the bottom.
  3. Press Enter or click Send.
Your counselor will receive a notification and typically responds within 1 business day.

What to use messaging for

Good topics for messaging:
  • Asking about your application status
  • Requesting a document checklist update
  • Questions about visa requirements
  • Scheduling a consultation call
  • Reporting an issue with a task or document
Not for messaging:
  • Urgent matters — call IEC directly for time-sensitive issues
  • Sharing passwords or sensitive financial data

Attachments

You can attach files directly in the chat:
  1. Click the 📎 paperclip icon next to the message box.
  2. Select a file from your device.
  3. The file will appear as a preview — click Send to attach it.
For formal document submission, always use the Documents section rather than chat attachments. Chat attachments are not tracked in your document record.

AI Compass Assistant

At the bottom-right of the screen, there is a small chat bubble icon — this is the IEC Compass, an AI assistant that can answer general questions about:
  • Study destinations and universities
  • Visa requirements
  • Application timelines
  • Programme requirements
Click the bubble to open Compass. It responds instantly and is available 24/7.
Compass is an AI assistant and cannot see your personal account data. For account-specific questions, always use the Support messaging section to speak with your counselor.
