Guided Tours & Onboarding
Every major portal page includes an optional guided tour — a step-by-step walkthrough that highlights the most important controls. Tours are built for multi-tab pages: the walkthrough switches tabs automatically as you progress. This page is listed under your portal tab (Student Atlas, Counselor Portal, or Admin Portal) because portal walkthroughs apply after you sign in — not on the public website docs.
Help button (replay any time)
Click Help in the top navigation bar on any portal page to replay that page’s tour. This works even if you completed or dismissed the tour earlier.First-visit auto-start
Tours auto-start on your first visits to each page when your account is less than 14 days old. After that window, tours only run when you click Help or open a checklist replay link. Manual replay never expires — veterans can always use Help.Portal onboarding checklist
On your dashboard (Student, Counselor, or Admin), you may see a Portal onboarding card listing every guided page tour for your role.Multi-tab and subtab pages
Tours understand tabbed layouts:- Settings — profile, security, notifications, and role-specific tabs
- Admin workspaces — People, Access, Admissions, Catalog, Programs
- Email — Sent, Broadcasts, Newsletters, Audiences, Templates, Suppressed
- Blog — Manage, Review, Writer, Writers, Settings, Analytics
- Counselor Students — Students and Invites
- Counselor Documents — Review, Templates, Form Requests
Support settings tour
Student Support lives under Settings (/atlas/settings?tab=support). The checklist opens the correct tab and replays the support-specific tour.
Admin reset (staff)
HQ admins can reset another user’s onboarding progress from Access Management → Users using Reset Onboarding. This is useful after a major role change or when re-training staff.ERP leads (admin and counselor)
Leads for admin and counselor portals open in IEC ERP (external system). Tours explain the ERP handoff rather than walking through in-portal Leads UI, which is no longer shown in the portal.Troubleshooting
